Tamil Nadu cinemas threaten not to release any Kamal Haasan movies

South Indian Tamil Nadu Cinema Theatres Association on Wednesday Threatened That none of actor Kamal Haasan's movies will be released, old or new, in any theaters in the state, if he goes ahead with His plan to release his Vishwaroopam on DTH format, before screening in threatres.

In view of deciding to release Vishwaroopam Haasan in DTH on January 10 and in threatres the next day, theater owners and Their Representatives across the state met here Wednesday to choose Their future course of action.

Briefing reporters on the Deliberations of the meeting, General association secretary, said Paneerselvam theater owners have already asked not to release Haasan the film on DTH, a precedent Which would in September, leading to closure of theaters.

The pirated CD and new films Shown in Television has taken a toll of audience-attendance in theaters in Tamil Nadu, number of Which has gone down from 3,000 to 1.200 now and eleven step like DTH Becomes a precedent, there would not be any theaters in future, I said.
